On mine, I wanted the creases there, but for them to be very subtle. Just a slight bend, rather than a line. But I cut the score marks too deeply, apparently, so they're very visible. I decided I don't care Then, when putting on the abs (which I sized to fit my torso very close) as they pulled slightly, the lines became more pronounced when pulling against the glue.[/

You got a pretty bad ass suit too Zlurpo. How did you join your pieces together like bicep to forearm and stuff like that?

I just added some shaped pieces on where I needed them. I then glued pieces of plastic as reinforcement, and then put washers over that to add hinge strength. Bolts/nuts were the actual hinge pieces.

This and this are photos of the elbow hinge. Very similar setup in the knees.

Hi Max,

keep up the great work. I really enjoy your WIP and it is one of my favourite threads that really caught my eye. I´m new here and just started to get interested in building my own suit because of an injury I got from sport (torn ACL). While I was watching a lot of movies lately cause by the immobility I was searching for a new hobby and while watching the IM movies and the Avengers it came to me. I want to do this so badly.

I am happy to got to this forum and so see so many people with so much passion. You guys are all amazing. Of course I need to read a lot and a lot first before I can even start, but I hope that maybe I can write you one or two messages in case of needed advise. As I´m from Germany as well maybe you could give me a good tip where to find the right materials starting from foam over cutter and so on.

Keep it up, man! I look forward to many more updates to come!

That's some good looking stuff Max. I'm working on my first pep helmet for my kids but hopefully I learn some things doing it so I can move on to making a foam suit after. I'll definitely keep an eye out on your progress to get an idea of what mine should look like. What foam files did you use if you don't mind me asking?

I used jackiesrockin files for the Mark 42 foam edited by giatron. Great files !

And to all of you sorry that I dont answered any questions so sorry for that. I was on a quick trip to Berlin for two days but now I will go on with the suit but first of all my new foam has to arrive I run out of it 4 days ago

This took me from January to build. I used all of Stealth's files. Yes I am in a chapel. My sister
had a Halloween concert for her college orchestra, and I went as Iron Man.

I bought some colours




Tamiya Lexan Champagner

Tamiya Lexan Met. Red

Tamiya Lexan Silver

These are flexible paints and very expensive ! 100 ml, 8 Euro. But I tested it and really this paint doesnt crack at all. Very durable.

I will need much more of this paint as only these 3 cans of 100 ml from each colour but it will be a long way till I will apint my suit so these are only for testing and some smaller pieces

Update!

The ABS is nearly finished I only need to make the back of the ABS that is why its not shaped that well at the moment

Hopefully I get it done tomorrow. What do you think ?
