IRON MAN Mark 4 and 6 Build - Video Update Page 6

Re: STEALTH's Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

One more question. How durable is it? Like, if I accidentally dropped it or something, would it shatter into a million pieces?

Re: STEALTH's Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

what are you referring to?

Never mind, I went back and read the beginning of the thread. It'll be cast in semi-rigid resin, so there's no need to worry about brittleness. My bad. Just wanted to know in case I ever made my own version.

Even if you dropped a fiberglass piece it wouldn't really break into a bunch of pieces. You might just get a small crack. Fiberglass has strength . It's not literally "glass" to break so easily.

I helmet fell off the top of my locker. I thought for sure it was done for, but it was ok no damage what so ever...GM

Re: STEALTH's Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

Finally got around to glassing the whole suit on the inside. Hopefully it's rigid enough.

I would guess pigment so he knows where he's covered.

Stealth, you are amazing, thank you for your awesome work and inspiring us to do the same.

Re: STEALTH's Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

Yeah, just pigment. It indeed helps know where the resin is going.

Shaweet! An update!
Just look at all that Iron Man goodness, I can't wait to see it come together.
What do you have planned for the joint gaps or is that something you will work on when you get to it.

Re: STEALTH's Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

The fibreglass on the Iron Man suit cured perfectly.
Next, we resined the outside.
Once this is cured, we can start finishing up some parts.

Mmm...looks like chocolate.
