Sweet, I can't wait to follow this. You are one of the primary reasons I am getting into this hobby.

Re: Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

Got the back done, gonna build the abs next.
Torso fits great.

Re: Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

How you gonna do the abs stealth? Foam or resin like the rest?

They'll still be resin but a more flexible resin. Perhaps even Vac formed?/
I'll see what the easiest way is cause, in all honesty. I hate casting big parts like that in general.

Re: Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

Looking great! How does the cardboard hold up over time. I've always wanted to do a similar build, but thought about maybe using Sintra.

I'm not leaving the costume as cardboard. I mentioned I'm going to resin, fiberglass and fill, sand etc.

Re: Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

Stealth you're a machine man. Can't wait 'til you get this bondoed.

P.S.

Your homegym is making me envious.

Re: Iron Man Mark IV/VI Build

Wow you were not kidding about a quick build. The upper torso pieces look awesome and the fit looks perfect. So, instead of the usual pep file method you are tracing the foam files onto cardboard? I am curious why you chose this method, is it because it allows for a much quicker first stage of the build? I hope you get better soon, drink lots of green tea and get plenty of rest.

Stealth... Man.. words cannot express... phenomenal work as always my man!!!! I can't wait to see how this goes... welcome back to the fiberglass suits :)

and get plenty of rest man, kick that sickness in the rear!

A ) Because my foam suits only last 2-3 wears for me and I don't want to look at them anymore once the paint cracks and what not. I don't even want to bother repainting my Canadian Patriot to War Machine 2.0 anymore because it will be in vain.

B) hard suits look more like a replica. Many different resins you can cast them out of: Rigid, semi-rigid, flexible. You can have what you need for a specific part.

Nothing to do with quickness really. Cardboard takes more time planning it out and a lot more strength to cut by hand which can be a deterrent for others to use it and then have to do all that work later, strengthening, glassing, filling, sanding. I just want to take the time and make something awesome and be proud of.

If it can be as good as yours I'll be pleased. :)
