Iron Man - helmet way too big... [pics]

So you think it's a good idea to sell a very poorly recast helmet?

yea, craigslist. As an example I put ad if anyone was lookin ps3 parts and sold my broken one for 20 bucks. There could be someone out there that just wants a simple helmet. What else is he gnna do with it besides junking it.

Thanks man. Ugh.... I really wanted to avoid making my own helm, I hear it's the toughest thing to get right. I'll be posting pics of the rest of my suit soon, and it's DEFINITELY not professional grade, so I at least wanted the helmet to look good :p

The first one is always the hardest. It was for me atleast lol but now i can make one with my eyes closed...not literally lol. Check my thread out There you can see my helmet out of foam, it just takes practice and will make less of a dent out yr pocket, just my opinion thats all :) http://www.therpf.com/f24/foam-ironman-mark-vii-coated-rondo-small-149883/

I think you guys are missing the point. Somebody took a licensed replica, poured some rubber on it, and is selling copies. Meaning they didn't create the helmet themselves, but are trying to make a profit off it. This type of thing absolutely kills our hobby.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned. Do your homework before impulse buying. If you can't return the helmet, then use it as TMG suggested and practice your skills on it. Turning around and reselling it only perpetuates the bad deed.

I just want to say, you have made the RIGHT DECISION on buying a new helmet and you've come to the right place this time...;):thumbsup

Thank you very much... I'll be working on your new helm and will give you updates from time to time...:)

Oh BTW, I second the suggestion of TMG to make the recasted helm as a skill learner... practice paint it/ weathering effect/ hinge installation/ etc.

cheers everyone!

Rooster, its your helmet to do with as you please. At the end of the day it was your money and it is in your house so you can do with it as you wish. So just take these as suggestions not end all be all law. Good luck with your build.
