Iron man helmet - stregthening ready for mold?

hey all

I brought an iron man helmet to make a mold from and work from there but the helemt itself is made from weak plastic. whats the best thing to put on the inside to strengthen it so i can mold the outside?
was thinking about fibreglass resin but not sure.

i just bought the "iron man 2 costume helmet" am going to recast it and then when i made a nice new on of it thats thicker then i can add more detail/ mod it etc and then do a final cast.

complicated but i cant alter it as it stands really cause the plastic so thin.

well i would suggested you try doing rondo on the inside. a combo of resin and bondo make a hard shell but so you know it is not a 1 to 1 ratio like smooth cast is
