Iron man 3d print

I was wondering if anyone can help me find some STL files of iron mans hands.

I found hand files on this page http://www.therpf.com/f78/iron-man-mkiii-3d-print-files-free-182942/.

they were perfect looking and had amazing detail but the issue is when i printed them they turned out to be hallow, leaving them easilly broken.

ive also tried to use pepakura files to do the hands but they come out too blocky for my liking

if anyone has any ideas on how to fix the gap or other iron man hand files it would be greately apprichated.

I'd be happy to help, but first there are a few questions that need answered

1. What kind of printer are you using?

2. What 3d modeling software do you have access to?

3. What 3d model repair software do you have access to?

4. Do you have any experience in 3d modeling or repairing STL files for 3d printing?

1. i am using a solidoodle 4 ABS printer

2. currently i have been using netfab to repair, scale, and cut stl files so they fit onto the print bed

3. as mentioned above i use the free version of netfab and the auto repair tool

4. i do have experience in 3d modeling but i lack the software to be able to complete the tasks needed

Alright, well the first thing you need to do is go download a program called blender. It's free and open source. This will allow you to thicken up parts of the model that need it. It'll also help you delete parts of the model you don't need, like the louvers in between the fingers of that model.

I can't really assist much with blender, as I use other programs for modeling, but there are quite a few talented users on here that do! Check out FerrousBueller 's videos on YouTube. That should give you a good start. I think he has a thread about 3d printing a MK7 helmet. Check that thread out too for some good info.
