Hi everyone, very nice to meet the fellows luv ironman at the forum. Few days ago, I tried to make an ironman helmet by myhand, but not exquisite job at all I think. Yet I’m a completist so I really wanna make it better than right now. I found most masters here using 3D print tech, I’m also willing to try it once. So is there any buddy could share me the 3D body armor data of ironman mark-6, that is the one l like most in all series. Many thanks, looking forward to ur help soon.

Hey Zierul, I am in the same boat here. I have a 3d printer but no Ironman files. :-(
Please let me know if you find any, printable, files, high resolution. First I am looking for the helmet. I will do the same with you.

Are those files yours??

I'm modeling a mk 7 helmet in blender also for 3d printing and that files are great! I still want to do the models on my own. But this will be great to check all proportions, thank you!

Now I'm just temped to print the thing! arggg!! :lol :lol :lol

Yes they are indeed! They are modified versions of zabanas. I got his permission to work on these and post them. You should print them so I can see them printed out as I don't own a 3d printer! ;)

Oh! now I see your main thread for the files! great!

I can try to print the faceplate in one piece, but I have never build something so big! I will have to plan that very carefully because it will take about 30 hours to print!!

Later today I can split the faceplate file into top and bottom if you'd like!

For people like me with a "home 3d printer" like the ultimaker will be much better to print in two parts, so I can print it facing up instead of standing. I can also split the STL file, but maybe for you is easier with your original files.

Here you see that the faceplate takes all the printing area in the Ultimaker

I will also have to try slic3r instead of cura, because I don't like much the support structures that cura generates...

Really? I love Cura as I have tested the Ultimaker, but what kind of support does it generate that is not very good? You know there are manual settings also, can't you change the support density etc.? Good choice on the Ultimaker btw. ;)

I'm still a bit noob to 3D printing. And I like cura, but I have found that in some cases the support structures leaves too much gap and the part flexes a bit during printing...

Maybe it's my bad and I need to tweak a bit more the manual settings... but it seems that slic3r does a better job with this structures...

And I'm very happy with my Ultimaker. I will be adding a heated bed so I can print with ABS also :D
