Tony will use the mark 1 when all else fails. Also rhodes will dawn the updated war machine suit during the movie.

Dammit guys! I know it was probably my fault for even coming into this thread but PLEASE put a spoiler warning on that kind of stuff. That's probably a fairly important part of the film.:unsure

As promised, here're some pics I took at the Disneyland exhibit on opening day. Line was pretty long, great to see Marvel this popular, hopefully Disney adds more Marvel stuff in Anaheim like the rumored Stark Expo replacement for Innoventions. Suits on display were the Mk1-7 and the 42, and a couple helmets, chest plates, and various props.

Any guesses as to what suit this is???? It is on the "not enough" commercial....

Deep Sea Suit (Mark XXXVII) – Known as Hammerhead, it’s designed to be able to travel to the deepest parts of the ocean. It can withstand extreme pressure, and it has high-power work lights to allow visibility in murky waters.

I just don't know if I am into all this "just hold out your hand and the armor flies to you" stuff. I mean just how is that supposed to work? Does each individual piece of armor have it's own rocket in it? Is it done magnetically somehow? Is he using the Force? It made some sense in Avengers, the whole deal was in a rocket pack, but this just seems 'not right' to me for some reason. It just seems the writers have gotten to the point where they have to 'up' themselves everytime figuring out new cooler ways to get him in and out of the armor.

But I will hold judgement until I see the movie..

Yeah, you really have to have read the extremis book to kinda of understand what is happening.... But from what I have gathered, the Mark XVII is a prototype that is prior to the extremis in the movie...... Because supposedly the mansion attack happens at the beginning of the movie...... So the Mark XVII is some sort of mind controlled unit.... But I could be wrong... Haha we will find out in a few weeks I guess...

I think the idea is that repulsers do the work. From the iron man experience it looks like only a handful of pieces. Which then 'unfold' on to you. The hand piece in the trailer has bits that come out as if growing up his arm. Like a new suitcase armor I guess. For compactness. The mk vii has design flaws. It needed to see his hands etc. Was a big bulky thing also. In the trailer it appears that the mk 42 pulls tony into position when the house is falling apart. I like the idea of the suit being not perfect and having kinks in it. To show no matter how good tony is... hes not perfect.

A side note.. .. whats the mechanical arm doing in the trailer when tony does the flip? In the background, it looks like the glass is broken infront of one of the suits. And the arms taking it out. Its on the phase 2 peak of the phase one limited edition set. But you can see it in the still pics that have been out a while

SPOILER ABOUT THE EXTREMIS NOVEL BELOW! .....

im not sure either. Perhaps the suit doesnt work properly until tony gets extremis. The idea within the extremis book was that tony could think or 'talk' to the suit faster. As its mechanical and he cant get it to respond as quick as he would if it was his own body. Extremis fixed that. But the suit in extremis isnt anything like the mk 42. And no one knows that tony is iron man also except for a few so theyre bound to have changed loads of stuff

Assuming they follow that little bit from the Extremis comic, then yes. Each part uses a repulsor to fly towards the pilot, and then it "unfolds" onto them like normal armor parts.

Is it just me, or does this movie have an abnormal amount of TV spots? I don't remember any big movie having more than 4-5 different commercials? Maybe i am wrong... Or maybe I am just now able to be more aware of these different ones
