Iron Man 3

The scenario in the movie, 2001 - A Space Odyssey is surprisingly accurate. The astronaut, Bowman, has been locked out of the spaceship by the crazy computer, HAL. He bursts into his spaceship by leaping through the vacuum of space from his spacepod, and being exposed to that vacuum for about 10 seconds. It turns out that in a vacuum, you will stay conscious for about 10-15 seconds, and you would survive a 90-second exposure

Interestingly, despite all the strangeness associated with the TV show Farscape, they got this part right as well. John Crichton jumped through empty space at one point to get back to the transport pod and was remarkably unaffected.

Not sure if this has been mentioned previously in this thread but I loved Sam Rockwells acting. His role as Justin Hammer was great and would love to see more of him in Iron Man 3.

Obviously with his wealth and his association with the American Forces i'm sure he was soon let out of prison after he was arrested in Iron Man 2

Sam Rockwell is a good actor, but the character is lame. He's totally incompetent, his Iron Man suits were pathetically faulty killing everyone using them. Might as well have Bozo the Clown as a villain for Stark.

I thought they could have done a lot more with him. I love Sam Rockwell to death and I always liked Justin Hammer as a character, but in the movie they did make him too bumbling to be a serious threat.

Hammer wasn't the villain, he was just a plot device to make War Machine and the tools for Vanko. I never looked at him as being the main villain of the film by any stretch.

Not Iron Patriot. War. Machine.
‘Iron Man 3′ Rumor: ‘Iron Patriot’ Armor is Actually War Machine

Nice to speculate and what not. But IF anything at all, the similar look was to symbolize a bit of an Easter Egg or to start speculation like this.

Of course, the speculation won't stop, so May 3rd will be here shortly.

I completely agree with you Tigerblood.

The only reason I'm insisting that it's Detroit Steel is because if Mark Millar makes a point a it's Detroit Steel, I'm sure I'll take his word for it.

There was concern over how the suits are powered if Tony is not in them. If you notice in im2 when the mark 2 is laying on the table after rhody took it, he takes out the arc reactor so i assume every suit has its own.

In your theory, what aspect of Detroit Steel do you think is going to be represented in the film. The name? Being produced by Hammer? I'm just trying to better understand your theory.

Dude what is your problem? I was honestly trying to hear you out on your theory. No one is impressed by your GIFs.

Lets see some of your evidence you posted that backs up your theory...

^ Oh, yep there it is. Nothing, absolutely nothing. Go ahead and respond with your portfolio of awesome GIFs. :thumbsdown

Ugh, I would not want to see the Detroit Steel story line. It would feel like too much of a rehash from Iron Man 2. I think that theory is bunk, despite what someone else is saying. If he really told you that...he was likely drunk or pulling your leg.
Detroit Steel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's called "continuity" and movie writers use it on sequels when they write their story. Mark Millar is the person who would talk a lot of sense because Iron Patriot was practically his idea. For Iron Patriot to make sense, they would have to wedge in the 'Superhuman Registration Act' story arc (which led to Civil War and of course you pseudo Iron man fans wouldn't know that) and guess what? they can't because half of the main characters in that story arc are owned by Fox. A lot of you are already complaining about Justin Hammers character in Iron Man 2 is "half ass" and you would want a character that doesn't have a place in Iron Man 3 story arc?

And BTW, Detroit Steel... controlled the same way like what Mark 47 is supposed to be in IM3.

and Sundowner, I don't have to prove anything to you. I will sleep very well at night knowing that I didn't convice your numbskull. You're not a person that I have to worry about. I forget about you everytime I click out from his thread. And you, otherwise.

and now for your entertainment, from my gif portfolio...

Ciao.

The civil war / Normal Osborn Iron Patriot has been discussed several times over in this thread. What you don't seem to be acknowledging is... Why does it have to follow that to the letter? Look at Whiplash from IM 2, he's a completely composite character. They took the name Whiplash and some characteristics of Crimson Dynamo and came up with something new.

So, why do you think it's impossible that something similar isn't happening here? That they're simply using the name, and no other character traits? It's been very clearly established that Rhodes is piloting the suit. Sam Rockwell isn't on the cast for IM 3 so I sincerely doubt he's going to be more than mentioned in passing.

The burden of proof is on the accuser. You're saying it MUST be Detroit Steel and you're not backing that up with any sort of solid reasoning. It's not our job to prove you wrong, it's your job to prove yourself. Otherwise you just sound like a broken record.

Love it.

This is the most hypocritical post that I've EVER read in here. Whatever "theory" that you think I should post, I had posted. And what is your theory? Oh I know, stars and stripes paint job.

I still stand by my statement that a Detroit Steel storline is simply...meh. Hope to be proven wrong, but not really interested in seeing that in this film. Much more interested in seeing the Extremis story line play out.

And honestly who cares who is right about whether or not Detroit Steel is used as long as this film is awesome and kicks our ass?!

Are you saying you don't care about me, tigerblood? Tell me how it really is, some tough love. pssshhh...:lol
