Iron Man 3

Very possible.

However, here's a thought: If Rhodey was able to commandeer one of Stark's suits and turn it into War Machine, how difficult would it be for someone else to commandeer Rhodey's Iron Patriot armor? Just because it says Rhodey's name on it doesn't mean it's Rhodey inside it. After all, I could have a car with FE ADMIN painted on the side, but just because it's on the road doesn't necessarily mean that I'm the one behind the wheel.

When Black Widow and Nick Fury are talking to Tony Stark about Rhodey taking a suit, Black Widow makes a comment about the suits being coded to a person, so not just anyone can use them, alluding that suit was meant for Rhodey.

It says Rhodes on the damn suit... They trademarked "IRON PATRIOT"...

What are you guys having a hard time with?

Rhodey=Warmachine=IRON PATRIOT

Detroit Steel made by Hammer Ind. (comics)
War Machine made by Hammer Ind. (movie)

Detroit Steel- stars and stripes paint job (comics)

assuming it's Detroit Steel (made by Hammer Ind. and stars and stripes) in the movie- more credible than your assumption.

Marvel trademarking "Iron Patriot" doesn't mean it will make it to the movie. It's more likely so Hasbro can release toys of "Iron Patriot" under the Iron Man 3 branding.

Here's the thing though, I don't think the Iron Patriot armor is a retrofitted War Machine / MK II anymore. The helmet, especially the ears and face, look VERY similar to the new Iron Man armor. I'm guessing the suit was completely redesigned for Rhodes by Stark.

How much you wanna bet?

I think this is a case of which name sounds better in the movie world in getting the stars and stripes war machine idea across. There has already been changes from the comic book...

How is that more credible?! Detroit Steel makes no sense. Why would the Air Force look to Justin Hammer to build them a piloted mech, especially after what happened in Iron Man 2? Wouldn't Disney get a hold of the rights to Detroit Steel instead of Iron Patriot if that were the case?

I'm still wondering what the reason for the new paint job is going to be. Like maybe, after what happened in Avengers and how everyone knows about/loves Captain America, the Air Force decided they needed their own spangly looking hero. I still hate the look, but I could buy that.

I kind of have a feeling that it is a promational thing for the Air Force. I know the Air Force and the Army have dolled up custom cars and such for promotional stuff.

I'm pretty certain that even Marvels Facebook page referenced it as Iron Patriot (not Detroit Steel)

Besides, Steel is a DC comic character - don't want to get confused now.

This looks impressive.
It's always a good story to see our hero broken down and having to struggle to rise back up.
Worked for Batman...
