Iron man 3 Mk 8 in pepakura - A collaboration work

My height is 5"7 or 170cm. Already too short compare to others here.
My weight keeps dropping down, now around 70kg (150lbs?).
I just realized yesterday, that my waist reduced from 32 to 29-30-ish.
The cod will be reduced so much,as I will cut the upper torso too.

I want to make this Mk8 sleek. I want to slim down my belly, so I will be fit for my next Spidey suit.

You will be getting a tester file, it design to easily determine your body proportion before you start scaling the actual template.
If you see my previous post, you will see my paper mock up made by using tester file. It is very easy to do.

Update: finished (re)making the boot. Nottoo happy, but much better than previous one. It's a keeper. Pieces of carpet will be sticked at the sole, or I will try to find some patterned rubber sole.

Today, I throw away some of my foam helmets junk, Mk8 back piece,Mk6 chest piece, several unfinished parts, pepakura helmets and masks. Sad, but I still have a big pile of junk of unsuccessful trials. I don't want to keep piling up, as I hear voices (oh, that's my wife).

First picture to show some parts that I build (not all cause it wont fit the background). Out of that, only two forearms and one boot are the one that I will use/keep (and they are not even painted yet).

Curious, should the boot flap stick to the boot (like hand plates)or shin?

I updated the table for more info.
Domo arigato gozai-masu, Helagak-san.

I just measure my waist: 32 (sad), but I wear 30in pants, my 32 is too big now

I have maybe a stupid question and I searched but couldn't find an answer... how easy is it to sit in these Iron man costumes? Like if I have to take a cab somewhere am I going to crack the fiberglass?

I have a foam suit and have to say it is impossible for me to sit down without destroying the abs... I could imagine that it is even worse with Fiberglas :(

If you build it right then you should have enough motion to sit in it, at least the foam. My diaper/abdomen isn't a problem, my biggest concern has been the knee joint. If you make a double jointed knee you can bend it no problem to sit down.

My foam suit, it is possible it sit. But not easy. And the suit doesn't take it well... On Halloween, I threw most of my suit in the cabs trunk and wore just my under suit in the car then got dressed on the sidewalk! Haha I suppose that is why you don't see iron man hailing a cab very often.

I guess I didn't even think to take it off to sit in the cab and then put it back on... that makes a lot of sense! haha thanks, i guess I just wasn't thinking it through.

I can imagine how hard to get into cab with the suit, not only sit.
Abs and cod should not be joined of you want more flexibility.

The crotch part should be removed. However like Neuer said, the foam shouldn't take that much pressure, it'll crack, even fiberglass.

If you can velcro the abs and cod, you can take it off while taking the cab.
My suggestion is to cut the cod and abs on left or right side.

Msleeper, what is double jointed knee?

I would guess she means either a floating knee similar to tribalgrinds or thigh attach to top of knee, shin attach to bottom of knee.

I initially thinking about something like newer action figures knee setup.
That's why I asked for clarification.

Can it be done like this?

Yeah kind of like that IMIM2. I actually haven't done it to mine yet but Maggie did it to her Iron Man and she can sit with no problems. But basically you have the hinge tabs coming from the shin and thigh, then in the middle you have a third piece (like shown in your diagram) that the shin and thigh connect to.

At Dragon*Con I saw someone who did this to their arms as well. I haven't had any issues with my arm joint though I guess it does take substantially less stress than the knees do.

I always wanna do this.
It'll be so much useful for doing "the knee pose".
Can you ask Maggie, any wise word in doing this?
Thanks Msleeper

Failed to make the shin. It turned out the ankle opening was still to small for my foot to slip in, even when I did the back flaps removable.

This set back my schedule, since now I am back on the computer tweaking the 3D models again. Not happy:angry.

In the mean time, I made PVC stand (mannequin). I tried to mix Mk8 with my Mk6 hybrid, and they really don't like each other. Strange things happens (parts get stuck, chest keep pushing out the bicep, foot and arm keep loosing, and it was all on the hybrid side).

So I finally have it displayed (until Helagak asked my to take some picture, and I have to dismantle it to bare again).
The bare PVC can be found on my tips thread.
