oh btw, got any tips for the gluing and stuff? i used a glue gun for my first pep and it was too messy and thick, there was a thick layer of glue between the pieces. i read to use pva so ill give that a go. but just wondering if theres any tips anyone could give me, would be alot of help

That sort of stuff is better suited to the pepakura Sticky...this thread is all about how jazzed we all are to have Finhead and crew making an über accurate helmet well before the premiere.

...and I am quite jazzed in that regard.

Seriously, I think years from now we'll find out Finhead really is Tony Stark.

The new design is a nice change, its got the old comic book shape & feel to it

The helmet looks amazing. Koodos to your 3d modeler. He definitely has alot of skill. I know how much work can go into a 3d model to make it accurate. Can't wait to see the printed item.
Finhead - How long did it take for you to receive your IM and WM helmets from Shapeways afer you purchase the files. I have several files I made, submitted and purchased. The estimated delivery date was like two weeks ago and I tried to email them but have not received a reply.

Thanks guys and yes my 3D guy is amazing at this stuff, glad he's on my team. And he really appreciates all the kind words.

Blackkaos I usually wait about 4 weeks for my pieces to ship out, they have taken up to 6 weeks to ship but that was when they only had one location.

Thanks Finhead. It's been about a month now since I placed the order. It's just got me concerned because I haven't heard anything nor received a reply to my email.

I really can't wait to see the printed helmet. Like always I don't think it will disappoint.

Great work Finhead, been following this for a couple weeks to see your progress. Just fyi, I have it from a reliable source that the new suit is the Mk42, not the Mk8.

I can confirm that. The reference images Clinton supplied me with for the model are titled "Mk42."

I'm hoping to see a montage scene of suits showing off all the different things each one does or maybe the trial and error process in getting through 42 suits. Regardless, should be pretty awesome!
