I just saw noticed this, in the first image we see these silver "U" like shapes on the side of the face plate when it is up on top of the head but i was watching the movie again today and i saw when Stark puts on his face plate the "U" like pieces are attached to the jaw of the helmet and as the face plate is attached the "U" like pieces move up to lock it into place. Not sure if they forgot that it attached the other way or what but its very inconsistent. Wanted to post this in case anyone wanted to make a helmet with a locking mechanism.
