Hey guys, new here and no better way to introduce myself than to post a current project of mine.

This is being done for a Comic Con and to pair up with my lifesize MK VI Ironman as "guards" into the collection room. This is War Machine in all his over 6' tall glory. Been waiting for someone to come up with this baby but no luck, so I decided to make one instead.

Inputs please, would like to have it close to the movie version as much as possible. I'm currently using the 1:6 scale Hot toys figure for reference.

And oh, the arc reactor and eyes will have LEDS.:) Hopefully I'm in the right section. I'll be updating this thread everytime I got something worthy to show.

Thank you and i promise to keep this updated until I got the gun metal paint on and with the LEDs.

And sorry for the FS in the title good sirs, I meant for it to be Full statue or Full size. Thanks for the edit.

Very nice to se this project. It it takeing on very nice shapes. Are you useing plaster and foamboard for the build? Looking forward to se more of this.

Very cool. Please, share your process. I'm very interested in how people create these kind of projects from scratch.

Thanks guys! Awesome to see TMP posting here, loved your works!

@ IronManiac - We used a mannequin as an armature and did the armor ontop of it. For reference we used the figures from Hot Toys. The 1:4 bust and 1:6 figure primarily and some pictures from the net. I also have the Oxmox MK VI for size reference because I want them displayed side by side. So a lot of measurements and conversions were made just so we can keep the proportions as close to actual as possible.

To get the really sharp and smooth armor panels, we used thick boards and puttied with polyester bondo to make it firm and sandable. The mini gun was of course made of the usual PVC pipes. This will be moulded and casted in fibreglass on completion.

Just a small update guys. In the process of sanding and cleaning up the armor panels. They look a lot better now IMHO.

I'll have better updates by next week. ;)

Been a while but War Machine's been casted. I like this update. Fresh fiber/resin cast so a bit of uneveness on some parts. This will be up for sanding next to even out armor parts.

Can use some input guys. What do you think?

This is why I love this site. Seeing work such as yours is exactly what is needed when you want to give up on your own work, albeit nowhere near as awesome as yours.

Cant wait to see the finished product.:eek
