iRobot Spooner's gun kit help

I got one of these kits that needs a revolver to complete.

Anyone here have info on which revolver (airsoft, blank?) to use and where to get it?

My understanding is the gun used inside the clamshell was a smith or taurus 5shot 38 special with a custom barrell.

Though something like this might work:

with plenty of modification, or it might just be too wide. I will check for 5 shot airsofts snubby guns and see what's out there

A five shot snubby will definitely work.

I actually tried the .38 from a disassembled Off-World BR blaster and it fits almost perfectly.

Since I can't have a "real" revolver in my screen used gun here in NZ I replaced it with a Tanaka airsoft M37 "airweight" which was a perfect fit.

Only mods were the remove the trigger guard and the plastic strip down the front of the grip.

Just picked up this little Gem, and it seems to fit very well. Some small tweaking, but as close as one can seem to find these days.
