Introducing Marsha, the abused delorean time machine (#2930)

Hi all,

I'm new to the RPF, but I have a few friends here. I'm not sure how active they are!

I signed up here to document the resurrection of a poorly done Delorean time machine. Pictures are up on picasa here: https://picasaweb.google.com/nullset/BTTFDelorean?authkey=Gv1sRgCJClrdeJ6fnJfw

I can post a few pictures here as well. I did not do the conversion. I bought her on ebay and am working hard to bring her back to life. Once she's mechanically up and going, I'll be working on props (hence, joining here).

If you have any questions about deloreans, time machines, or me, feel free to post here! And if you're in Atlanta, you're welcome to come hang out and help me turn wrenches to get this car going.

About me: I'm a computer engineer, a member of a local hackerspace (Freeside Atlanta - freesideatl.org), a 3D printer owner (2 ZCorp machines, one on loan to a friend, and a makerbot that lives at freeside), and a restorer of neglected deloreans!

Welcome. Probably saved a bundle buying the car with a lot of BTTF stuff attached. I see you pulled the engine, tranny, brakes etc. What is the mechanical state as she sits? Good to see you have a proper shop! BTW I hate doing brakes:lol

An update!

I've got the frame back together now. I've reinstalled the engine and transmission. Last night, I reconnected the electrical system for the first time.

It's not quite ready to fire up, but it should be soon. My goal is to have this car running before Dragoncon. TWO WEEKS? OH MY GAWD!

*runs away crying*

Wow, that's awesome! I'm in Atlanta and would love to help out
