I have seen quiet a lot of Kobolds within the last years - all of them (black & silver) had a knurled bottom section so far.

This one could be a later model with stepped transmission, smooth bottom, 1/4" tripod mount and no Kobold Logo.

It`s painted in gray hammer finish - maybe made from Kobold for another brand like Linhof ?

The alu top section is quiet more shiny than from the others I have - looks more like chrome or highly polished aluminium.

Anybody saw something equal before and can provide some info about it ?

Ahoi,

I lurk around forums like this all of the time and have never seen one like that before. Looks minty too! You sure this isn't a parks replica repaint?

thought about a parks first time as well but the interior is the same like my other Kobolds - old fashioned "Made in Germany" parts and it came with all original assy (dish, cable, bulb adapter).

indeed the condition is excellent - under one of the cable connectors is a lil crack - you may see it on the image - no parks I think.

does any other photographic manufactor else than Linhof had the Kobold flash unit for sale ?

here in Germany we had trademarks like "Alfo" "Porst" "Revue" - what about those in the US or UK ? Maybe "Sears" ?

you know a lot of things were "branded" or "labeled" for other companies - like the Kaiser shoulder pod for the Boba Fett pre-prod blaster.
