I don't have such a former and so seldom need one that it's not worth getting/making one not to mention parts made that way don't have tight tolerences. Also, blockish items don't lend themselves well to being formed without webbing.

The little clampy things would scrape the paint off of resin. :unsure

The thing is that these boxes were used for many things in the 50s and 60s. Jewelery came in them, playing cards, the uses and sizes were endless. Notice the dark colored boxes attached to the Command Mike boxes, I believe that they held the batteries for the lights.

What I wonder about, is what were the other boxes purpose suppose to be, the ones in front of the holsters. I noticed them years ago in some of my photos from the movie, and those boxes also have the battery box attached to them. You can see them in Zombie Killer's photos.

I have a friend who I showed the prop to and he said he could machine the microphone.
Is anyone else doing this prop or was this just an info gathering thread?

Yeah I still have my old man's dice box.

The newer ones are still made though. Just most are clear top and bottom IIRC.

Me too!!! Been wanting one for years now.
After seeing the pics from ZK I started thinking...didn't my wife have one of those?
Quick check in the ole' jewelry box and EUREKA!!!
Not the correct one with the silver top but it gives me the top unit to have my friend scale out to make the microphone part.

I am still working on my belt boxes and command mike. I did find the clear boxes on Amazon cheaply. You get 5 in an order. Trading card cases! I still haven't found the clamps for the mike yet. I decided to make the mike out of PVC. Since I can't get the real dimensions, I'm going to do a good guess. I figure 1/2 inch for the handle and 1 inch for the top. I ordered some 1 inch clear glass cabachons and will use 1 for the top lens. I will use zip ties for the knurled rings on the handle and cut grooves with a tube cutter. Then I will paint it silver. I already have the pencil holder, so I guess that's the best I can do now. Work in progress. If anyone has any info or ideas, Please let me know.
