hey guys....I'm a newbie as far as making my own props (in metal form) and I'm sure there is a wealth of knowledge out there about every frackin detail about various versions of every Storm trooper blaster made for episode V and IV. I've been wanting one for years and while the MR blaster is nice i'd rather go the real route like the prop guys from ILM. i am working on getting a de-commissoned one so any help from "you guys" about converting a real sterling to a blaster would be great. Also which model of the Sterling was used...Mark IV? I have tons of Star wars original stills but not too many detailed ones of close-up of the blaster (other than the pix in the FROM STAR WARS TO INDIANA JONES -THE BEST OF LUCASFILM ARCHIVES) which has one photo but no details from which film it is from. I only want a blaster from Star Wars or ESB and NOT Jedi. after 27 years i can still go on rants about Ewoks and how un-dignified Boba Fetts death was...but thats a another thread. Any refferance pix would be of great help.

you're working on getting a decommissioned sterling? You're getting one shipped here to the US? um. Good luck. I think all you'll be able to find is a cut up one. They only have "whole" ones outside our country.

read that thread: because someone else who is also new just posted this exact thing 15 days ago. That thread has links to parts and pieces you need.
After welding them all together and showing progress I'm sure members will be happier to share photos so you can detail it properly .

Even more difficult, if trying to get one into Canada. I'd love to have one too myself!
