Indy’s Guns

Finally completed a “Guns of Indiana Jones” collection for my husband ❤️ It has been SO hard to keep this a secret! Since I cant tell him yet (these will be his christmas presents) thought you guys might get a kick out of seeing them

Top to bottom:
Colt Official Police .38. The Gun Indy uses, and Willie loses, in the car chase after escaping Club Obiwan in Temple of Doom. This one is dated to 1933 and stamped “DBN PD 141”. A fun detail

Smith & Wesson M1917 (DA 45 or Hand Ejector MkII) .45 APC. The gun Indy hands over to Belloq in the opening scene, but shows up again when he’s packing for his trip to Egypt. This one was originally made in 1919 and has the cut down barrel and reinstalled front sight. In the scenes filmed abroad, Indy uses the British version of the S&W with a different front sight but as thats the only difference i’ve skipped that one.

FN Hi-Power 9mm that Indy uses, then loses again in the Ravenwood Bar shootout. This is a newer production gun with an original 1935 ring hammer installed. Many Hi-Powers manufactured by FN around that time were supposedly sabotaged by the employees under Nazi occupation. Since the FN Hi-Power had only just begun production in 1935 when Raiders takes place, Indy’s Hi-Power would have been a very new gun so i opted for a new production with all the right 1935 external parts. Later in the movie when hiding on the cargo ship escaping Egypt, he uses a different Hi-Power made by Inglis in Canada but those guns werent made until nearly a decade after the setting of the movie so i’ve skipped that one too.

Webley & Scott Government model of 1898 chambered in .455 Webley Mk I. This one Indy uses throughout Last Crusade and it makes a brief appearance in The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull too. This was the hardest one to find. There are a few out there but most have been modified to fire old low-power .45 APC bullets.

All of these are fully functional gunsmith inspected real firearms. I cant wait to see hubby’s face on christmas morning!!

wow, this is very impressive! you must have researched a lot. This is an amazing Christmas present, if you like guns of course, but an amazing Christmas present for sure!
congrats (y)

WOW is right! Absolutely amazing collection!!! Well done and I appreciate your brief description as well. DanniAnna - How hard was it to find a cut down Smith & Wesson M1917? That is one I would like to add to my collection as well.

Noice!

I've got the M1917, the version with the other front sight, that I made from a Ruger Blackhawk sight. Lemme find some pics...

And I've got a MkIII Hi-Power, but just because I love the gun, it's just a happy coincidence that Indy uses one.

I always preferred the ring hammer, though, I'm jealous! My buddy has one with the ring hammer, here's a pic of our Hi-Powers together..

But, wasn't his an Inglis version, with the humped back slide and the tangent sight? Or am I remembering wrong?
EDIT: I'm an idiot, you clarified all that in your original post. Sorry!

What an AWESOME present!!!

What an AWESOME present!!!

He used two different Hi-powers. The first in Marion’s bar was an FN with the fixed sights.

Later, on the cargo ship, its a different one - the Ingliss - with the humped back rear sight and lanyard ring in the handle

While both are screen accurate, only the FN version is also chronologically accurate too

Yay internet for teaching me more about Indy’s guns than i think even my husband knows LOL

I had to have it done locally. They thought i was crazy for wanting to cut up an all original pistol but clearly they dont understand the passion of Indy fans ;-P

Yeah, sorry I didn't read your original post thoroughly enough the first time round! Thanks for the clarification!

Anyway, I've always lusted after a bird's head grip Webley. That is so pretty!

Ok this ones a little bit out there but is Indy gun related kind of , i go clay pigeon shooting and always save the used shotgun cartridges they are great for displaying as so many movies use shotguns, here's the Indy connection from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in the warehouse when he's being made to find the alien body he breaks open a couple of cartridge shells and uses the shot from them to find it as it's highly magnetic and decided to use a couple of mine to display in my Crystal Skull display section , however the main body are all plastic nowadays but back in the 1950's they were cardboard, so i made this label to wrap around them i'm pretty sure they are not going to be screen accurate, as i've not got a good image or screen shot of them but i went for Remington as they are a popular brand used world wide including in Russia, however i made up my own design but if anyone one here as got the right one please reply let me know with image if possible but here's the one i made i printed it 2 1/2 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches high which is the size to wrap them around the modern shells i then refolded in and glued the open end so they look unused.

That is fantastic! The dream of any Indy fan, I would think.

IMHO the most beautiful and iconic revolver is the WG. I would so love to have one of those!

A couple years ago at a gun show a booth had one for sale- those things are not cheap!

I've settled for a resin casting.
