For quite a while, it had been my intention to make one of these.
As usual, there is hardly enough time, so the idea just got put by the way-side :lol
However, seeing Relicmaker's & Barnett College's (the latter from COW) fantastic Voodoo Pins, inspired me to re-ignite this idea.
The technique I used is a self-invented one, using different methods that I felt comfortable with as it progressed.
Basically, the Voodoo Pin was done in parts, and then assembled. The first sculpts were done in either clay or plastecine, which I then converted to resin-plaster for the further detailing.
The "parts" basically consisted of the main front plate, the 3 separate skulls, the top "petal", and the two separate horns.
Then the back plate, with the "head" and built up body separately, as well as the jaw.
The final finishing is sprayed in silver colour. The crystals are all Swarovski, and the feathers are hackle spray authentic feathers.
Pics are self-explanatory. At the end there are detailed pics of the finished pin in natural & display lighting below.
Well, hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed making this
Alan
