Indiana Jones - Starting Small

Hi All,

Looking at easing my way into all of this slowly so was looking at an easy costume to get sorted. Indiana Jones looks like a good'n.

Anyone got any advice on where the best place is to look for kit?

Please be gentle on the newbie :)

Try Todds Costumes. He's the one to go to for quality stuff on a budget. The REAL STUFF will break the bank.

yep,i agree look into todd's costumes. the other stuff is way to expensive.unless you can get bargaining deals.

Todd's has great stuff for the cost. I purchased almost my entire costume from him over the past few months. Not to mention Todd is a great guy to deal with, a very nice guy.

I Like Todd's stuff for the shirt and other various props, but I got my pants and jacket from Wested leather and like the look and feel of them.

Cheers

I'm quite pleased with my US Wings jacket and Akubra Federation IV (no longer available direct from Akubra, it seems, but still listed on HatsDirect.com, which is where I think I got mine a couple of years ago). Both based on recommendations from members at the Club Obi-Wan board.

first figure out if you have any decent thrift stores in your area i have a friend here in las vegas that actually doubled for harrison ford at movie premieres and his suit was sent to him from lucas film it mainly consists of a brown worn leather jacket pocket placement varies if you wanna save some dough whip of course he can really pop that sucker pistol and holster you can find decent one at walgreens or walmart or if you wanna spend the money get a replica non firing real one depending on what event your doing a nice stetson like the one used in the movie i found both at a thrift store same day! but i didn't buy them cause i don't need em nice brown belt or black now remember to study the character and mimic the look sand paper works well to work on scuffing leather you can find a decent pair of boots at a thrift store too i always tell people make the rounds every week if your looking for somthing special cause you don't wanna miss it in other words haunt your local thrift stores sooner or later what you need will always surface hope this helps :love

I saw skip going to one vendor. Hit ebay first, honestly. Also, members here are ALWAYS selling Indy stuff. I mean, A LOT of Indy stuff is for sale.

If you aren't in a hurry, you could have a budget costume by Halloween if you only get two pieces a month until then.

I recommend taking your TIME. Really read everything you can before you start buying. And if you don't care, DONT get the "real deal" stuff. Get the "close enough" pieces if you wanna save money.

Either way, post up photos of what you decide on. And if you REALLY want the best and want to spare NO expense, then Indy Magnoli is the best for the costume stuff. And his work is all unreal.

That's my two cents. Go for the budget stuff and hit the Junkyard for the sale stuff.

Good Luck!

I had holster + leather belt from Todd's and they are great for such a low price! Good luck!
