Indiana Jones Sandbag

I bought a sandbag from Make It Jones and I've been aging it to look like it does when it's being used inside the temple.

This is how it looked originally (free plug for Daemoniac in the background):

The next thing I did was to rub down the brass eyelets with some wire wool, to get rid of the coating they had. I then applied some patina solution to the eyelets and started to soak the bag in tea:

I repeated the tea soaking a few times, but I wanted it darker and dirtier looking. To get that effect I mixed up a paste of potting compost, coffee grounds and a little water and then I rubbed that into the bag (which also gave it a well worn texture):

Once it had dried, it looked like this:

And lastly a glamour shot with my other Indy props:

I know it's just a "dirty bag" but that weathering looks great!
Well done, sir.

Thank you very much. I thought I post the info in case it helps anyone with their projects. I was pleased with the coffee/soil paste, it had the added benefit of causing the surface of the fabric to pill, which really helped with making it look old and used.

Now I just need to get my finger out and finish my Ozy idol...
