Limited Run Indiana Jones m1917 “Bapty” sight **RUN SIGNUP**

The Prop Store was able to provide me with some ultra-high-res versions of their photos, which meant I was able to refine the design even further, getting the serration spacing to match exactly how it is shown on the prop itself. I feel at this point, I’ve seen everything I could hope to see of the screen used prop (what perfect timing this auction had been!), and have the current design dialed in to be as close to the original prop’s design as I can make it. So I’m going to go ahead and move forward with production so I can get these into your hands soon!

I’ll be producing a few extra in order to meet minimum order quantity, so if you’re not yet on the list, and would like to be, please just let me know.

Here’s the final design as it stands. I made some subtle tweaks to the rounded tip of the sight blade, as well as adjusted the size and spacing of the serrations.

Awesome! That’s nice of the Prop Store to send some more photos your way.

pretty excited for this one :thumbsup

Did you ever find out if it is possible to produce a functional sight as well? The measurement on mine is .475" from the top of the inside of the barrel. My uncle has a cut-off that is about an inch shorter, which works well, and has a sight that is .530" (also measured from the top of the inside of the barrel).

It is possible, but because there’s been very little interest in such a thing, i can’t justify the expense. To produce only one or two would be nearly $300 apiece due to the setup fees.

Sometime, I’ll look into 3D printing the part in steel perhaps. That may be an option for a one-off possibly...

I’m a little confused, is the screen accurate sight able to put on a live firing 1917?

yes, but it'll be off target for accuracy in firing. It'll shoot high because the screen accurate one is too short.

^^^ what he said :) I’m expecting about 8” high at 15yards with the screen accurate sight, but this may vary from gun to gun.

Thanks guys, when will payment be collected? I don’t have a 1917 yet, but have always wanted one. Kinda foolish to miss this run now

I’m not doing any prepayment, I only ask that folks on the list try to be committed to the purchase. Once they’re complete and ready to ship, I’ll send everyone payment info. Let me know if you’d like to be added :)

Will post pics when I get it. Before and after cutting the barrel.

Speaking of which does anyone know the exact length to cut it????

4” as measured from the gap between the forward face of the cylinder and the rear of the barrel (aka “forcing cone”). This is what I’d read, and the prop photos overlaid onto my 3D model seem to confirm this.

Note: don’t simply cut 1.5” off of the 5.5” barrel, as the barrels don’t seem to measure exactly 5.5”
