On to the cover. This is a remnants piece from Hobby Lobby that I felt would look and feel the best. I also used a lighter cardboard so I can keep it flimsy and easy to bend like they did in the movie . I marked all my measurements and glued the boards on the leather. Now it’s a sit back and wait period.
I covered it with a piece of paper and heavy box to hold it tight
Ok, so 2 bad choices but 2 really good ones
Loved my choice of leather
Loved my choice of the cardboard backer. Gives me the exact look and feel I was hoping for
Used wrong adhesive
Cut width too short- just barley goes past the edge of the book. The top and bottom were perfect . Only needed to change the width.
The poor choice of adhesive left marks and hard spots on the surface which didn’t allow me to fully crease and adhere the flaps that wrap inside the cover.
I really do like the look and feel I have with the cover choice so I’m excited to redo it
Weathered it up a little
Plan is to smash it up now and again and not go easy on it while writing. I’m not going to weather or mess with the pages until it’s finished. The last time I tried to write in a weathered book, It kept messing the ink up with the dull spots on the paper.
Still missing some pages and hopefully someone can help me out with that. I'm going Hero on this one. Missing 15 pages, mostly the text pages.
