Indiana Jones "Elsa Zippo"

I am 30 and have had a zippo in my pocket since I was 16 when my mom bought me my first one. Over the years I have had about 30 but they end up getting stolen or lost or something.

Since I was about 25 I have been real good about keeping them around until they crap out and as a ritual I buy a new one every two years.

Lucasfilm did a really limited run back in the day, I think the mid 90's and I have only seen one or two on ebay in the past 8 years or so.

The last one went for $75 and I hate myself for not buying it.

Is there anyone on here that is known for making these?

I have about two weeks before I can post in the junkyard so I am trying to keep this fairly clear of any "questionable content"

But there is one out there now that is just painted on, it's kind of crappy and I would like to have the one that has resin on the top. Since the painted top ones came out people post pictures of the movie one on ebay and when I get pictures they are the painted ones.

Lucky brand jeans did one a few years back and it says "Lucky" on it and I would just rather have one of these.

It will probably get scuffed up, scratch from being in my pocket, but this is the one I am trying to see if someone makes replicas of.

This is one I have now, It's all metal and I have had it for 3 years now and it's on it's last leg.

It's about time for a new one and I am tired of waiting for one of these to pop up on ebay.

You should seek a Relic Raider lighter, which is well known on the Club Obi-Wan forums for being a good version of the lighter. Website here:
FOUR-LEAF CLOVER LIGHTER

I believe he only makes them as time permits, so you may want to e-mail and find out what's available.

Cool I sent him an email...Thanks a lot you guys.

Does anyone know exactly when Lucasfilm did their run and how many were done?

Thats a pretty cool Zippo, I've had my zippo in my pocket and in use for a little over 20 years, same zippo

What do you mean by 'crap out'? Everything in a Zippo is replaceable... Or you could get a different Zippo's lighter part and put it in your existing Case(s). Or are your casings the part that's getting worn out?

I have a box full of zippos that I have to send back to get fixed. Usually the hinges get too loose.

And when that happens after about two years I just get a new zippo just to have one.

I understand. It's always nice to get a new zippo:thumbsup :lol

I got one from relic raider, it's awesome. And lost. Very sturdy, and has a luxurious feel to it. The image of the clover is actually recessed and buried in clear resin, which makes it really pop. I'm fairly certain that 2nd pic TxBabyHuey posted shows this. If I ever give up looking for mine, I'll be getting the same thing again.

Well good luck because I just got an email from him saying he is out. And it will be a whole minute before he does more simply because of the humidity and weather.:unsure

I hate myself for not getting that one on ebay a couple of years ago.

At the time the most I had ever spent on a zippo was $30. But then I spent $150 on this one.

Probably my favorite zippo EVER but I needed money a while ago and I reinstated my old clover zippo which is my second favorite zippo, and only because it looks like the elsa one.

He said contact him in a month and I will just wait for one of his, they are very reasonably priced.

I wouldn't worry. It's been a couple of years, but I remember having to wait awhile for him to make mine, too. The quality is worth the wait. I liked mine so much that it was the one I always used...which is how you lose small items that aren't on a display collecting dust. Also from what I recall the guy was pleasant to deal with, which is always a plus.

I asked the guy "What is the story on the original prop?"

There was a period when I actually thought there was a zippo from this time that I could find, I looked for it for years and never found anything.

So he emailed me this.

The prop is a standard Zippo (Nowadays #200 model). The front and back were painted with what appeared to be white poster paint. The clover may have been painted on with acrylics. There was at least a second Zippo prop, which may have sported paper stickers. It was used in the scene in which Henry drops the lighter on the floor. When the lighter goes up in flames you can see the stickers peel and curl. I am pretty sure a movie prop guy made the clover Zippo props, not the Zippo company. The main Zippo prop looks pretty sloppily done. I tried finding a clover Zippo everywhere back in '89, but it didn't exist.

Cheers,
-K.P.

Hi guys. I know this thread is over a year old so sorry for bringing it back to life, but does anyone know what the status is on Relic Raider? All the links I have tried are no good and I was hoping to try getting a hold of this guy about making one of these. Anyone know if he still does? Thanks in advance.
