Hey guys

Thinking of buying a Neca replica robocop gun from states.
Can anyone tell me what the set up is with customs in the uk. Would it be ok ?
Would they stop or hold it?
Thanks

Couldn't change the colour as its from a supplier and brand new sealed.
Really don't know as afraid customs will hold it.

And even then make sure it's painted in such a way that it doesn't look real...

not necessarily true
I've had both a Creation Ent Peacekeeper Pulse Rifle (in black) and a plain resin Calico come through from the US without issue.

If it's a solid piece, you should be OK.

I think the problem will come with multi-piece items where there is any doubt it could be 'real'

Whereas I say you probably got lucky. I don't trust customs folks to check if it's solid or not. If anything they'll feel a heavy box, see a gun, and it's gone...

I think mostly customs tend to use the 'common sense' aproach here (unlike the bloody police!).
X-rays can pretty much tell you if it's safe or not.

Really??? Must be something exclusive to Britain! Common sense is never used at customs in any other country I've experienced them at!

Keeping in mind though that Britain is one of the most restrictive places in the world for firearms I find it difficult to imagine them not raising an eyebrow on something that looks like a gun entering.

Either way, best of luck! :thumbsup

Customs must be one of the biggest money-makers over here (judging by the prices they charge to import crap!) so I think they'd let anything other than an WMD or Anthrax in! :lol

That's the absolute irony of it all!!!!

I've lost count of the amount of (admittedly all solid) replica weapons I've imported without issue.
I had to persuade Mr Munson for months that it'd be Ok for him to ship his pulse rifle to me.

Fair enough! :lol

They're far more strict here in Canada I guess. Although I did get my LP53 in by making sure the seller put a note that I created in the box quoting the law that said I could legally import that type of airgun. ;)

but I could legally buy a deactivated one.
If it was a plastic 'replica' it'd have to be bright orange/blue/green

more irony!

but that's another thread :D

lol, and you just got a PPK!
couldn't do that here :lol

Within Canada, different story but still lots of hoops to jump through!

Similar rules here although our deactivation standards are stricter than yours IIRC.

Yes. Many apologies for the hijack snedders1!

According to Nobby you should be fine.
