I am currently renovating a wolf head that was modeled (not by me) using taxidermy fangs and resin eyes on a plaster bandage base. I am trying to use as much of the original structure as possible, but I would like to get a solid, smooth bone-like finish on the skull.
I am likely not looking at any solvent-based substances as I don't have the proper space to work with them.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get this finish?
I have a couple of ideas (model magic for the filler, then white glue based papier mâché followed by some acrylic or oil-based lacquer) but I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this!
(Also working on: low budget angel costume a la "Blink" from Dr. Who.)
