For those of you who'd like to know about weapons, especially weapons used in movies, there's this awesome website called internet movie firearms database. At least to me it seems these guys really know their guns, and not just about "only what you see here, pal", but about phased plasma rifles in the 40 Watt range too, if you take my meaning. For instance, what happens if you throw some guns from The Untouchables and Jurassic Park on a table and let some techie go nuts on them, is, you get an M41 pulse rifle. According to this site it was built up out of a Thompson submachine gun and two different shotgun models, a Remington and a SPAS.
