Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. After seeing Adam Savage on Ted Talk (a must see for everyone here, in case you haven't) and him mentioning this forum, I've been lookin' around here for quite some time.
It's amazing to see all the people here making and re-creating the most beautiful stuff!!
I've been working on this Jack Sparrow costume for a while now, and it's finally starting to get somewhere. I know there already are a billion Sparrow's out there, but it's a cool look, so...you know...
Anyway, making things with your own hands is one of the greatest things in the world, so that's what I've been doin' so far.
I've made my own shirt (non-bleached linnen), waistcoat, glove&wristwrap,
dreads and I'm on a constant beadhunt for finding the antique/vintage beads and coins (I feel like an eight year old everytime I find one LOL)
Some beads still need to be repaced (those #%@* silver beads!!!)
Next will be "Jackin'-up" some old boots, making the pants, more dreads (back of the wig is a bit..empty...) AND I'm working on a shrunken head.
Oh, about the "On Stranger Tides look", I'm still recovering from the shock...
