Thanks always nice to see more UK'ers on the RPF & good luck with the build. This is great! Im in the UK and about to start a mk7 foam build so this has been really inspiring and informative, thanks for sharing. I just hope my build turns out half as tight as yours.
WOW thanks mate, really appreciate your kind words. Personally think patience is the key, its so tempting to rush through to the finish but if you are lucky enough to have few time constraints it really pays to take your time and enjoy the building process too.Can I just say that this iron man project is one of the best examples of what can be achieved with a little hard work, skill and patience....As a first time UK builder myself, I feel inspired to make another suit to hopefully improve on my first attempt.... Myself and the entire RPF waits with baited breath for you to finish this stunning piece of art. You sir....are "the man"
Thanks, its Easy Flo 120Shelfside this is amazing, I haven't had time to sit down and read through the thread yet, but is this done with Smooth-On 65D?
Hi Shelfside and all. Im thinking of getting some easy flo 120 to coat my foam build at some point but was wondering how you would apply it to EVA foam. I know that you use PVA layers
on plastazote before easy flo, but im not sure wether to do that also or just go straight to the easy flo layers ?
Im thinking that for EVA it would be
1 - easy flo
2 - easy flow 15 mins afterwards
3 - prime
4 - sand,fill,prime etc.
Does that sound about right ?
Thanks
Thanks mate
Bit of progress on the shoes:

Thanks budThis is beyond epic...this is a MASTER technique...I cant say enough about this process...simply brilliant brother. :ninja Ninja Approved!!
Cheers, just keep building mate and enjoy it.i really love your helmet , wish i had your skills to atleast make a faceplate lol very beautiful armor sir.
Thanks mate, plan on doing the larger pieces in sections which hopefully will make it a bit easier.Looks great seeing it up on the mannequin :thumbsup, how you finding the pot life with easy flo? When I was doing my mark 6 chest with 65d was a real challenge with the large surface area and smaller details + edges had to slap it on double quick. Really looking forward to seeing how your one turns out![]()
Hey bud, had a peek at your Halo lid and well impressed mate.Looking amazing man! I too wondered about doing those large areas when I was planning on doing my MK XLII plastic coated but now I have descovered the love of sculpting I havent had to work it out. Can't wait to see the chest done on this cause its going to really tie the pieces you have done together.
Huh?uhm wanna ask is it my paint becauor parse when i used it there is a glittery effect in the paint is there a way to get rid of it or what paint you used in the gold thing
Cheers, I like Wicked Red on the later suits think AX5 really only works on a MkIIII'm liking the colour of red you chose mate, when I made my suit I went for Citroen wicked red from halfords...I think it's more of a cherry colour than the one you used
Agree with P4rdoxOk, thanks P4r4dox86, I've read so many different procedures now that I'm getting them muddled up. I'll go the PVA route first then, cheers
CheersThose are some good cuts. 2
Thanks for he kind words, the boot detail is just a large socket heated up and pressed into the foam, I use all sorts of metal objects to add detail like that.HTHI've been putting this build off for too long and you have officially inspired me to get going (although I'll be trying the Mk VI). Your work is fabulous, easily one of the best I've seen! I'm intrigued about how you achieved the detailing on the shoe ie. the little flower shape half way down the shoe?
Thanks for he kind words, the boot detail is just a large socket heated up and pressed into the foam, I use all sorts of metal objects to add detail like that.HTH
The whole build is predominantly 6mm (red & yellow) the 3mm was used for detail work ie: on the abs, the neck & gloves. So basically the helmet for example the red foam if it is red or pink, is the 6mm and the yellow is the 3mm?? or the hole helmet is 6mm??
Lol....great that your foams winging its way to you mate. I trust you'll be posting your progress on the RPF?Lol...genius!! You sir, are my new inspiration!... Foam ordered and templates at the ready......![]()
