Ideas for Rubber Gaskets on IG-88's Arms?

Any ideas for what to use for the rubber gaskets on IG-88's arms? I have a nice rubber hose that would work if it was only larger.

do you mean the bendy pieces at the joints? If so, I would suggest checking out the plumbing section of a hardware store. I know they make flex piping and may have the size you're looking for.

Yes, the flexible section. I've been all over Lowe's and Home Depot plumbing departments but I haven't found anything like this. Something automotive, maybe?

looks like a pop-a-lot compressed or even two cut and put together. That was something I have looked at for the same thing,,when i can get a head from you..lol

Do a google search for CV Joint Boot, the flexible rubber accordian-like seals look like them to me, I'd guess from a older british truck maybe?

~Edit~ Followed Sawduster's link and those could be a good lead as well.

Not sure how big you need it but I agree any of the flex hoses for a car/truck might work or the cv joint.

I just realized I put this in the costume forum. I can't fit in a C3P0, let alone this guy!

Are those boots sold at an autoparts store? They look pretty good to me.

I used an automotive part for mine, I had to buy two and cut them down for size, but they were rubber and worked great.

I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was readily available at Auto Zone. I believe I brought in a photo of IG-88 and pointed it out, and the guy came back within a minute with exactly what I needed.

I agree. I think it is a CV joint boot.

That does sound right. I *do* remember that I used the universal joints from two inexpensive automotive adjustable rear view mirrors to make the elbows. That way the forearms could bend about 20 degrees in any direction.
