Ideas attaching obi1kenny's emitter - anyone?

I've wrestled with many strange conversions over the years I have done this, but none quite like this....at least, in part (haha, I made a punny!).

How do you attach the silver disc and emitter, using the original graflex guts? I don't want to experiment if I can find someone who has done this before....

I milled or sawed off a slice off the top of the graflex plastic part and used double sided tape to stick the disk/aluminum stub to it.

Thank you, falcon dude. I was thinking along the same lines, but instead of tape, I was thinking glue. Tape may be a much better option.

I appreciate the input very much.

I removed the Graflex guts and just ran the top of the black portion over some sandpaper for like a jillion years until the disc was nice and flush with the lip of the graflex. It was a bit time consuming, as I had to check the gut's level contantly to avoid sanding it down too far, but the results were more than adequate (oh, you have to yank out the original brass Graflex stub--but you probably figured that out already!).

Wow....I had no idea it could be so involved. What about the nut that attaches the emitter rod, though? Did you have to drill the guts out to make it fit? If you did, how did you stabilize it? Also, if you drill the very brittle guts, isn't there a high possibility of the whole unit cracking??? I've only worked with resin guts before this.

Just one correction on my previous post, I didnt double sided tape the disk/emmiter in.......because I dont even have one :$
I did on my last build but I sold that one and then built this one, and on this build the kit i got was missing these parts. Anyhow, as you can see there is a rather large hole in there already. IIRC the hole is large enough for the nut, but if not you just have to enlarge it a little bit. Im quite sure I didnt have to though.

WOW, this is fantastic. Thank you, bud!!! :)

Yeah, the hole is too small for the nut. It'll take some careful drilling to get it just right. Even so, it'll have to be stabilized, so I'm thinking JB Weld. Is that wise, I'm wondering?
