This badge was supposedly purchased on ebay.

Can anyone ID it or where to get one?

I took the pic at Shore Leave 2008 in Baltimore.

The fellow wearing said it was purchased from ebay and they were plentiful. LOL

No such luck. I've checked.

ive seen the badge on ebay plenty of times... but just a painted resin one.
his being actually plated is a surprise. That is the only one ive ever seen other than the plated one i have, which i had done years ago.

I can. These metal outland badges were sold by Paula Crist at conventions in the early '80s, they are very nice. I believe I aquired mine at a bay area convention in 1982. As I remember it cost about $20 then.

They used to be pretty common, thus the ebay mention...however, I'm pretty sure they must be rare now, and I doubt any more were made after the initial run.

She also made a brass headpiece to the staff of ra. I own both pieces.

That looks like a well painted copy of the Paul Frances one I have. (Part of my collection of shame.)

I got mine from Paul back in the early days of the RPF

Paul Frances?

Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. A long time.

I think I might have one of those too. :)

That one at the top is real nice.

I don't think they offer them anymore but check with Intergalctic trading post in Fla.

Paula ****** had them?

Ham Salad, can you post a pic of yours? Thanks!

I would, but I don't know how to link to a picture. I can't even do that for a
avatar.

I can describe it, the front is as the photo shows, the back is pebbled. Whole thing brass or brass plated and enameled. Pretty neat manufacture, a bit heavy but the back is hollowed out a bit so it's about 1/8" thick.

The headpuiece if a bit thicker than the screen used original, all brass, very heavy and substantial feeling.

If you PM me an email I'll try to dig the thing out so you can see, have it in a box with my badge collection.

Weird, I was just thinking about this prop the other day! :)

I've got a couple of resin versions, but would love a metal one.

Anyone up for a small run of these? Maybe the member that did the Gotham PD metal badges might be someone to ask?

I have a metal one just like that. I picked it up for about 25 bucks at a Trek convention in the 80s. I also have a nice resin copy in all silver. What I want is an FSA ball cap like Sean Connery wears in the movie.

Ronin...

That one was molded directly off of my metal one.
I was told it is an original. It has 1980 stamped on the back and a couple of letters I cant quite make out.

If it is and you got it from Paul, then it is as close as you can get to it, in resin anyway.

I've wanted a metal Outland badge for years.

Me too. It's been on my "to get" list for ages. I've seen the resin one on e-bay but they don't quite make the grade.

Also a metal badge would score kudos with my wife. Outland is in my wifes top 5 movies. The badge along with other patches from the movie would make a nice framed gift for her.
