Kirk Originals glasses, model LOI 5/105 "Sculpture"

These Limited Edition glasses, produced by Kirk Originals and discontinued in 2005, were used in both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and worn by Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon.

Each pair has been made by hand, in France.

This is not a screen used pair, but it is the exact same model and comes from the same production run as the one used in the movie.

These are very, very rare and hard to get hold of.

I couldn't think of a more iconic prop when it comes to Gordon. I wanted something that would immediately be recognizable, and I think i've found the perfect item!

Original price was £250 ($410), and I got them for £200 ($325). Big bucks indeed... But this is a rare item that will become harder and harder to find (if not impossible) in the future.

Besides, they look so insanely cool that when i'll have to wear glasses, i'll ask an optician to replace the plain glass lenses with something adapted to my sight.

Then i'll grow a moustache, and voilà !

I'm so happy :)

WOW! If I had the cash Id get a pair in a hearbeat! They look great, regardless of being used by Gordon. Insanely jealous here!! (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Thanks :)

I especially like the "bedside table" shot with the J.V. badge and coins, looks neat :love

On a side note, the frame is tinted acrylic (not acetate) such as its color slightly changes depending on how light strikes it.

That's why sometimes the frame looks deep brown and sometimes rather yellowish.

Not necessarily pricey. A pair of designer frames usually goes for about that much.

If you wear glasses already and have vision insurance you might be able to get them to reimburse you at least a percentage of the cost. They are afterall legitimate glasses.

Actually I don't wear glasses so I wasn't aware of the cost for a "nice" pair... But that insurance thing is interesting indeed !
