I get to build a tall ship for work!

I know it's not sci-fi, but We are doing an opera next month where a character is a model builder. So I have to build a revell 1:56 USS America.

I've never even LOOKED at a ship before. This is going to be so quick and dirty.....

I actually looked at that kit when I was looking for something to try and make a fantasy style airship. I doubt it'll take much time to build and detail since only the actors are going to see it up close. Then you can always rework it as a project.

Mostly because I can get my props person to cut the parts off the sprues for me!

If it's going to be a built up kit on display, be sure to kill the pure white of the sails. That would telegraph all the way to the back row!

I'll prime the whole thing and then airbrush it.

Follow that with oils and I'll call it good enough...
