I will post a link if its OK, but there is a cyclops visor on eBay right now and the guy claims to have "received it from a prop guy friend from the first movie" It look just like all the regular cast copies I have seen around, most o which are cast fro the adult licensed costume. I may be wrong but reading his description makes me think he is full of it. His eBay ID is costumechemist if ya want to check out the auction. Now if it turns out its genuine I would be all over it

just bought it!!!! thanks for pointing this out!!!!

joking....looking at the price he is asing for doesnt seem to be legit

Sorry. Just being curious. Has anyone ever take photos pf these props from behind? I just want to see how the cavities are in case I want to do the red optic beam effect.

Bank to normal forum posting.......

I'm not positive, but I think costumechemist is a guy who has ripped a bunch of people off on several Batman boards, Janty Whatshisname.

janty C. like the guy that ripped me off too. :angry

Sometimes referred to as Jants, Janty, JC..

dresses like a pirate too.

he didn't just offer cowls - he offered full suits too

I don't know if costumechemist is the same guy though...might be

On a related note, what do people think of the Sideshow/Museum Replicas Cyclops Visor? Movie accurate? Seems like they always go for really high prices compared to the original list price.

Thanks for the link! Wasn't a whole lot said about them, though, and nothing that would explain why they now typically sell for $200+ (when you can find them).

Whoa! Thanks for the link! I followed this thread but somehow, it just got buried under my radar. Must..... stop...... the...... urge...... to...... get...... one......

(Until after I saved up for The Ractor Arc, that is)

Looks like you already decided it was a fake, but I was contacted by a friend who knows the prop makers from the first movie and they said "There were no unpainted props made and none given out as a "gift".

They asked that I post this.

First off, welcome. :)

From what I understand I believe he makes really good cowls. I don't think anyone is calling his quality into question, just his ball dropping on delivery. You may actually get your cowl.

Well you mentioned Jants/Janty/JC/etc.....his real name is Janty Chattaw. There was a thread not long ago about him here that he began posting in

I found him on Youtube, the first impression I got from him is that he makes a great Jack Sparrow, and he seems pretty decent.

Do I understand correctly that he has issues with shipping on time?

I contacted him today with questions about the cowl, he responded very promptly.

Thanks for the feedback.

I know Janty is in California...or at least was the last I heard....whether this seller is him or not, that I can't say...
