I am currently making the human predator from the books based off of a recently made figurine.

Here is what I have so far!
I was really excited about the helmet so that is where I started. First I sculpted it out of cheap air drying clay then heated some worbla over it when it was dry. The clay did crumble when I took the worbla off but the end result still came out really nice. This was good for a one time copy of the clay but I would not have been able to use it more than once.

After construction I primed it with 3 layers of wood glue and 2 layers of plasti-dip. I painted it with bronze spraypaint and acrylics. The eyes were made out of PETG plastic which I dyed to give it the tint.

I also have the chest piece and shoulders/cannon completed. They are also made from one layer of worbla with craft foam. To get the texture I used a solder to make the holes in the foam then heated the worbla on top pushing into the holes. For the cannon I carved the main structure out of pink insulation foam and heated worbla on top which melted the foam. I don't recommend the insulation foam as much as EVA since it melts so easily. I was able to cover up most of the mistakes with the detail work so it isn't really noticeable.

That is all for now! I will update more when I get more progress!

Amazing..love anything to do with Predator costume and props ...looking forward to further progress , nice Bio helmet !

Nice work on the helmet, I hadn't thought of using clay and worbla like that before, the result looks great.

Thank you so much for the encouraging comments so far!
I have finally gotten to work more this costume. The past few days I have been working on the wrist blade. I used EVA foam and Apoxie sculpt to get the details on the blade and black worbla for the wrist armor. I used elastic and lots of velcro to attach the entire thing together. Next I an going to experiment with some methods of strengthening the blade. I am thinking of a few layers of wood glue and then brush some resin along the blade to make it more durable. Great work so far! Just a question on the helmet though, How do you breathe with the helmet so close to your face and no holes in it for breathing?

How are you securing the blades to the gauntlet itself?

I used worbla on worbla along with hot glue to attach the blades. Additionally I used apoxie sculpt to cover the gaps which further helped secure the blade. It is extremely durable and wont be coming off.

The helmet is loose enough and has plenty of space where enough air gets in. Also I plan on securing it with magnets onto the wig so I can easily take it on and off. I am mostly worried about how hot it gets inside the helmet, hopefully being able to take it off easily will be good enough!

I didn't even think of the heat... Everything looks awesome so far so keep going!! This build is kicking major butt:thumbsup

Here is the belt and hip armor progress!!!

For the main pieces of the front and back I used apoxie to sculpt the details over black worbla. For the center front portion I used transparent worbla for a smooth surface and to cut down on the weight.

For the hanging down piece I sculpted it with cheap clay and heated some worbla over it to make one solid copy. This made it really light and durable! I love using this method however I use the cheapest clay I can find which does not allow for multiple copies to be made since after the first copy the clay breaks.

Here is everything finished and painted! I attached the hanging piece with clips and the cloth with velcro! The belt itself is one piece held together with elastic and one clip on the right front side. I wanted the hanging part to come off for easier sitting at cons and such :) One of the biggest challenges for me was patterning this to my body since the figure has much much longer legs than I do. I ended up having to squish everything shorter in order to fit.

I couldn't resist posting a full shot of the armor so far with the wig I received today! I am debating with cutting the wig shorter since the figure has her hair about shoulder length. I love the long hair though so I may leave it longer. Beads will be added at some point as well.

More progress! I have finished the costume, and in a rush I did not take as many progress photos as I would have liked (especially of the sewing parts). I ended up putting some LEDs in the shoulder cannon and finished the leg and feet armor using the same techniques I used before with making holes in the patterned craft foam and constructing the pieces with worbla.

I ordered an amazing lace front braided wig off amazon which I beaded and pulled the front portion back. Although the wig is longer than the original design I really liked the length and left it as it was.

I went to a con with this recently and had some awesome photos taken. Finished cosplay pictures coming soon!

Here is the finished pictures of the costume! After wearing it for the first time there are definitely some adjustments to be made. First, the belt was too large so I had to pin the thing to my undergarments which did not help much overall. I plan on removing a lot of the elastic and replacing it to make it smaller. Additionally, I was missing a piece of leg armor of which I did not have time to finish. Other than those two things the cosplay was a success!
