Hulk Suit...The Real Deal!

This is a pretty impressive task guys, I genuinely hope you do it well, I've been looking into making a fully animatronic hulk head for a little while now, I work in animatronics for films, and feel this would be a pretty fun project to work on, finding time is the problem though. Might I add that to do a convincing head of that size you'll need more like 20 servos and several RCs rather than 6 on an arduino. Also Are you guys planning on increasing the size of the guy in the suit? Whilst the leg is looking quite muscular at the moment, it's going to be really stumpy and lost by the time you get to the top of the shoulders, and are you planning on meching the hands? If you put arm extensions in there you will probably find the whole thing to be top heavy.

sorry about all the questions, but as I say this is something I've been looking into making myself for a while now, and it's not a small task in any respect.

Just looking at your leg pics, you're only up to the hulks knee and you're already at the actors crotch, you might find it wise to put a 'stilt' in the foot, to raise the actors foot, you could
easily fake an extra half meter in height there, if you put the actors foot in the calf, this would give great room to fit any size foot, and an ankle to size of the hulks could also give you a great opportunity to mech the whole foot to the actors foot, on a very simple gimble system, it might require a little more skill to walk, but would look fantastic externally.

That's awesome..I really hope you get to start on yours soon.
regarding the head I do believe you are right..to do an extremely realistic head would take 20 or more servos.
I think convincing could be 6 to 10 servos. not looking for a lot of movement just some basic gestures... for now.
the focus is on getting the suit to the right size and having it mobile with detail I might add.
The guy you see wearing the leg in the pics are me, and I won't be the actor wearing it typically.
The pics were more to show that we are making progress...be it small..lol
The actors foot will be placed around the ankle or higher if possible..still getting dimensions set properly.
We are more or less just focusing on the bottom at the moment.
Thank you for the positive advice..I will be taking everything into consideration as we progress.

How will you be 'looking out' will it be through the chest area, not sure if its a possibility but it'd be very cool if you could some how operate the face while hulk walks around conventions ( possibly a friend with a radio control) so hulk could. Move his eyes and mouth.

Yes through the chest area, and yes it is very possible..we are planning on making the head animatronic..the eyebrows, eyes, and mouth.
was thinking of putting it on a timed control, but I like the idea of radio control.

THANKS!

New to the forums, and I must say I can't wait for the finished product. This build is a great inspiration.

Small update!
Will have a lot more very soon:)
