How does one stand up a 1:1 scale figure?

If I were to make a 1:1 statue of this fella how would I go about standing him up? Mind you, he'll be in a less dynamic pose (standing straight up with a little bit of an arched back). I don't want to damage the figure's torso by having to drill a hole where a stand could peg into and I don't think it'd have enough stability to just be mounted to a base by its feet. My primary construction materials are PVC pipe for the frame, styrofoam for the body and a GRIP of Bondo to smoove the whole sucker out. I'd guestimate it's gonna round out to about fifty or sixty pounds and it'll stand 6'2".

Any advice? Thanks again in advance!

So you're looking for an idea that wouldn't call for something to be connected to it's back anywhere? Not even the backs of the legs?

He has pretty flat feet. If using pvc piping, you could easily hide a connector (attached to a base) in there.
