For those of us just starting with our costumes, making them is the first half of the project. After you have completed your endeavor how do store it safely? How do you transport it safely?
Do Imperial gunners have the same storage boxes as Stormtroopers? How about you Imperial Officers? (And I presume a Stormtrooper solution would also work for say an Iron Man or Dr Doom)

I was wondering the same thing. I just ordered my first Vader bucket and was wondering if a bag exists to transport it. I've seen one for a trooper helmet but not Vader.

    thanks,
    Ron

Most common thing I've seen used for costumes, or more specifically, helmets, is drum kit bags; a tom bag will be your best bet.
Storage wise I was wondering the same thing for my Kylo. Would rather not have him hanging in my wardrobe..

For armour costumes - suitcases are normally used or large holdalls.
Bucket/lids can easily be stored in kit bags (already said) or motorcyle helmet bags.

    Rubbermaid tubs.
They come in a variety of sizes and colors.
    Some even have wheels.

For my X-Wing pilot, everything but the boots fit in a military helmet bag.

If you want to go hardcore you could get the large military containers (usually made my Pelican)

Target has a great black one with wheels and a red handle.

Do you use any type of foam padding, or custom shaped foam forms to store your parts inside the container?

Motorcycle helmet bag for my helmet and a rubbermaid tub for my kit. It also helps to keep things organized!
I'd like to upgrade to a rolling toolbox but I need to find one that'll actually fit in my car before I drop money on it.

I don't foam mine, most of the parts fit inside each other snuggly.
Soft parts keep things from rattling around.

With some costumes extra damage adds to the overall look (ALIENS USCM)
