How do I turn on Private Messages?

It says I have to edit my profile, but I don't see a option that actually specifies this.

Thanks,

go to the user cp. click edit options. about half way down you'll see a check box for PM's. Check it. :)

I don't see ANY check box. On the left-hand sideof my screen, it lists...

Private Messages vbmenu_register("nav_pmfolders");
menu_open.gif
FoldersInboxSent Items
List MessagesSend New MessageTrack MessagesEdit Folders

That's it...what to do? What am I missing?

you need to go into edit options. that's where the pm checkbox is. It's under "message notification" and then private messaging.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize that PM's were desabled by default. I would think that PM's should be turned on by default. Oh well, thanks for letting us know.

Okay, not to hijack, but now that that's settled, how do you do THAT (take a "picture" of the screen you're on)? I've seen it before, but I'd really like to learn to do it.

Hit "Print Screen". It stores a .bmp of your screen on your clipboard that you can then paste into a photo program.

Thanks for posting this! I didn't know PMs were disables either...

Oddly enough it says I have 38 PMs that are unread but I've read them prior to the Move, anyone else have that?

Why is it that when I just turned on my PM's, I get almost 300 saved PM's in my inbox and all of them were messages I sent to people.

All the saved PM's I had in my old inbox are now gone. What happened to them?
