hi guys so wolverine isn't far away now (6 months will fly lol) and i wanted some claws to accompany me to the cinema now ive seen plenty of claws the retract with a draw slider but they have to lift there arm to make them retract this guys one just retract with a simple hand gesture :/

im assuming its simply flexing as he has nothing on his hands but i really can't figure out how he made them any tips be great peace bub

you put a cable around one of your finger ,bend wrist, it pull safety lever(fixed to cable that goes to finger) spring back up

To me it looks like they're always under tension and being held in the extended position by pressure from the back of his hand.
At one point he has a failed deployment and they retracted on their own.

i had a though of it being something to do with flexing as i cant see anything on his hand just wish i could figure out the mechanism :(

the one he did are gravity (open) and spring/rubberbands etc (retract ) with a safety pin to hold them open pull string on finger ,spring bring them back up . you could look for kinda same system on retractable blade kinda like this one found it quick

in your vid look at midle finger near knuc you see string at 23 sec

Check out the HuntersLair costume forum. People there have done retractable blades for a while. Same concept as these blades.

Is it wise wearing retractable knives to a cinema considering recent news?

Even if they are not metal. Might cause some people to be a bit uneasy.

Its a wolverine movie I dont think most people will care as long as hes not swinging them around or carving up the walls, lol.
I carry my .45 to the movies (concealed), I dont care what people think, If some nut job starts shooting the place up I have a chance of defending myself and maybe stopping the guy before he kills everyone.

Probably old news to everyone, but back when I was in college I made a set of spring-loaded claws. They didn't retract on command -- but they did extend (or "Snickt!" for us purists.)

A velcro strap around the bicep muscle, under the jacket, with a cable (guitar string fed through a piece of thin flex tube). I was surprised at how well it worked. You could walk around all day, but clench the muscle and the claws would pop out.

Cool Blades. Seems like it's force and then a click/lock to retract them (release them)
