How can I make leather more flexible?

Hey guys,
I guess the headline tells my plan.
I have this fanny pack and wanted to make it more flexible as the leather is old, hard and somehow intractable, and therefore not easy to use.

Any tricks or household remedies to do so?

Possibly related, I have a leather binder that has had something leaning on it and left an imprint. How can I remove that?

I would highly recommend Pecards leather dressing.

I've used that product many, many times on everything from boots to WWII items and it has never failed me. Plus one tub lasts for years!

Softening Leather: Shaving cream with Lanolin (the lanolin is the important ingredient) rubbed into the leather and then heated by placing in a microwave for 2 minutes on high (if leather has metal hardware use an oven set at 350 degrees F for 4 minutes). Remove from heat and work the leather by hand to relax the fibers more. Repeat if desired flexibility is not attained.
