How can I attach straps to urethane?

I just ordered the batman returns costume from jester fx, and what I want to do is make a way to strap on the urethane pieces rather than glue them right on the the undersuit. What would be the best way to attach the webbing onto the urethane? Should I glue the webbing right on the urethane or should I make something similar to belt loops on pants for the webbing to run through? What do you guys think?
