I know this doesn't quite fit here, but it's just too cool. An Australian guy built a working hoverbike in his garage:

The guy claims it could "theoretically reach speeds of 173 mph and a height of more than 10,000 feet." I'd settle for much less, as long as it hovers. I hope this thing isn't a hoax and can actually become a real vehicle.
