Limited Run Hoth scanner and binoculars split clamp assemblies + small threaded Michell cones - machined aluminium

Hello guys,
this is what I was mentioning for the treatment of the clamp part, I have an aluminium type that when plunged into an acid bath for a while will develop a very nice oxydation, very much like a clear anodizing and to me, it looks a lot like what we see on the original parts.
I'm open to do that for the clamp parts, that being said, i would really prefer to not handle options for such a small run, so it would be for all of them if possible.
also, like mentioned before, it would add a couple euros to the price for several reasons.
don't hesitate to comment on what you think.

also, a reminder of what I mentioned on monday, tomorrow, Friday 28th is the last day to sign up for interest here, pease sign up now or I won't garantee you'll get your parts later on. thank you

I need the complete part for the electrobinoculars, please.
I'll add it to Odiwan72 most excellent kit.

Oh yeah - the binoculars! I knew I had originally asked for three complete sets for a reason! Please make it three for me, not just two.

Thanks for doing this!

Dan

Hi there,
I should receive the aluminium for this on Monday and start production then. With the slow interest and the added threaded cone part to that run, we are a bit delayed from what I hoped for, but, if everything stays on course now, we should be ready with those parts by the end of the month :)
cheers

Hey there,
already some good progress on the two tubes part as I already had the aluminium for that :)
I'll be offering a few stainless steel versions for who wants them as well for an additional fee as those are much more complex to do :)

all that while trying to follow the propstore auction somehow!

I'd be very interested in the stainless clamp for my Odi-wan Macro's

I'd be very interested in the stainless clamp for my Odi-wan Macro's
Also interested in a SS clamp for my real parts Simrad.
Hey,
alright, there is a small mis-understanding here, the stainless steel part is the two tube insert that goes inside the clamp for the scanner only. A few people are convinced that part is stainless steel on the original so I'm offering the option, but although we can see the stainless is darker on my photo above, the difference in hand is extremely subtle, and you can see the reflexion and specular of the alu part is exactly the same. The stainless option will have a cost (around 10-15€ extra) as it's much more difficult and time consuming to work with.
the clamp is always oxidized/vapour blasted/anodized aluminium and I'll reproduce that as faithfully as possible like showed earlier.

so far, there was no plan to reproduce the inside tube that goes in the clamp on the binoculars. I had the understanding that this is a found part plug but I'm not able to get an answer so far.

recap:
scanner: I'll offer the clamp in oxidized aluminium and the two tubes part that goes inside in either aluminium or stainless steel for an extra fee
binocs: I'll offer only the oxidized aluminium clamp for now.

I hope this clears things up
cheers

Ok, this being said, please don't get too excited about the stainless Steel parts, although the turning went well yesterday, i'm really struggling with holes and theading today... Already broke my threading tool and injured myself slightly for the second time...

Understood. Thanks Eethan.
I just love stainless steel. My picky eye sees a difference in the finish.
Hey am I too late to grab one of your clamps in aluminum for my Simrad?
