Hosed By EURO-MAXXX!

I won an auction on ebay back in May for a Eumig Servomatic. I got a great deal on it (so I thought) and opted for surface shipping, which I knew would take a few weeks. I was completely ok with that, trusting that it would arrive in about 5-6 weeks. The user, euro-maxx, was very cordial during the transaction and very communicative, moreso than most ebayers, so I felt that I had nothing to worry about. I paid through Paypal.

After ten weeks I started to worry that the package might have been lost in the shuffle between carriers or worse, held up at customs for some reason. I sent the user a nice e-mail asking for a tracking number. No reply.

Now I see that the user has relisted the camera on ebay.uk with the same pictures and description from the May auction!

This is my first time being burned in a transaction. I just finished filing a complaint with ebay, but I have no idea of their track record in handling such cases. I am well aware of the board policy about posting live auctions, but I think it's important that you all know not to deal with this seller. Mods, if I am in violation, I apologize. Please take whatever measures you deem necessary.

I'd like to hear from the rest of you as far as what I'm in for here. Do I have any chance of getting a refund? How long does it usually take to resolve these things? Am I completely out of luck? I'd really like some feedback from those of you who have been through this before.

Thanks for your time,
Patrick

Hadn't considered that. I figured since they were owned by ebay...

I see your point, though. Thanks!

EDIT: Paypal now redirects to the ebay Resulotion Center, which is where I already filed a complaint. Guess I'll just wait and see.

Did you use your credit card to make the Paypal payment?

If you did, you can claim the money back from your credit card company.
