Ok after a break yesterday I have added testor's Fl. Brown over the brown areas and highlighting the high points with more of the same. I have also applied testor's cream on the jaw and neck line to soften it.

I have had a lot of reptiles, baby bearded dragons have a mottling pattern on their bellies that lightens and eventually goes away when they reach adulthood, so I thought why not? Yes it looks ugly now but it will look better tomorrow

Ok I have dabbled a lot of light ivory under the jaw area and neck and then added white dots in the grey spots, sort of trying to imitate the young bearded dragon, but it reminds me of some monitor lizards I have seen. I have an idea I want to do, but I have reservations, at this point I have drawn from snakes, lizards, crocodilians, the eye may become frog like, but I may combine crocodile with a frog. I will also be adding avian features since some think theropods evolved into birds. One issue I have with the kit is it has cast fluid lines connecting the egg shell to the Dino , I have tried to brush stock colors and it is not working to display a clear fluid look to it, so I will probably mix those colors to be lighter than what I have used.

That sculpted liquid is a tough one,..maybe you could just paint it a light shadowy colour and put a layer of 2 part epoxy slightly coloured with red/pink over it with a few red blood spatters.
That may give it a more fluid look.

Ok so I took a chance and painted some rough areas around the eye Fl. Cherry to simulate a comb like chickens have, problem is that when they are chicks the combs are tan in color so to avoid questions I painted them red. I may paint around the eye red also, like pheasants, chickens, and some ducks have I haven't decided yet. On parakeets (budgies) you can tell if the bird is male or female because of the color of the nares pink or blue. The nare is the area by the beak where the nostril is. Also I will include some pics of some pheasants and notice their body coloration, this is coincidence.

Well I think the head is done, when it is dry I will coat it with floor polish. Imagine what I'd be able to do once I mastered an airbrush.

Ok this kit has molded into it a membrane or liquid that transitions the egg shell to the body. I ended up taking a brown and mixing it with ivory and kinda brushed the high ridges of the brown areas, did the same sorta thing with the green. I used light ivory to paint the shell edges and the cracks, yes this is what 99 percent of people would not do

Yah, don't do that. It should be white or pink or something.
It's part of the egg, not the Rex.

BTW - I like this. I dig your unconventional approach. And, your colors remind me of the Flying Tigers.

It's a membrane, so it should be semi-transparent.
It should be more the color of the membrane closer to the shell, then more the color of Rex closer to Rex.
The raised spots should be membrane colored.
Look at pictures of girls in wet t-shirts for reference ;)
