So I've always believed in the 'built not bought' ideology. Why buy something I can make myself? Anyways - I could have easily gone online and spent $10 to buy the Revell motor kit greeblie replicas, but wheres the fun in that? I have a friend at work that has a plastic injection machine he uses for his side business, and I make molds for him at work in my free time, so I made up some of my own molds for the two greeblies. The switch tags (I believe that's what they are...) were basically done up in my head, I kind of blew up a picture to get the right scale and went from there. After my Denix C96's arrived I measured the rectangle on the left side to get the right size for the motor / coil tag. Unfortunately my friend still has the molds at his house so I don't have pictures of them, but here are the results! He had some trouble with the rings breaking with the black material - hence the clear ones. And the motor / coil tag is actually the clear plastic with black mixed in, that's why they look a little 'smokey' (not sure if it will show up in the pic though). Not to bad for my first attempt I think. I also decided to make a mystery disc for my ANH version of the blaster. Its .98" in diameter, .030" thick. I bored out a shaft and made a little punch to make them easily and accurately. A rough blank is cut out, a .125" hole punched in it, and then the diameter is punched out using the die I made. I have also made the cylinders for the ESB version, I made the two as solid piece- made out of aluminum, and also pictured is the heat sink for the ANH blaster I made from aluminum as well for a BB gun DL 44 which I will make a separate thread for at some point.
